Event Description

This event is an opportunity for people within and outside Government, who are developing programmes supporting local online projects, to tell each about their plans - and get some input from those working on the ground or in research.

We hope it will also be a chance for everyone to share practical
experience, and develop some ideas on how to blend new and older ways of communicating.

We have people attending at programme level from Communities and Local Government, Ministry of Justice, IDeA, Media Trust/Community Voices, Young Foundation, RSA, Talk About Local.

The agenda is flexible, as explained here

After introductions, we want to hear from programme leaders ... and then from others who want to propose a topic for discussion.

We'll break into groups, report back, and remix as necessary.

The opening presentations will be short - just two minutes - with a chance to expand in group discussions. A timer will be on the table!

If you want to make a two-minute presentation - as programme or topic leader:
* please add a comment below
* if possible offer us some content online before the day. This could be a link to your programme, a blog post on this site, or something for the wiki.

Many thanks for the invitation - interested with both NDC and charity hats on, BUT away on Spain on short break so can't attend . Keen to get involved as the process develops.

Hi all - catching up after hols. Antonio, Amy and I will develop a framework early this week to help everyone pitch their ideas for the event ... but don't hold back if you have an immediate thought. We'll definitely need a session(s) on mapping who is planning to do what, where and for whom.
I'll also be chasing up some invites. We are looking for: focus on national programmes, with some input from those working locally; mix of government, nonprofit and entrepreneurial; policy and practice.
The wiki has more on who's who ... plus some developing howto content.

I had a good discussion yesterday with Steph Gray from BIS yesterday about what sort of things we can do at the workshop. The idea is for it to be an "unconference" - for the benefit of those of us who are new to this, that means not setting the agenda in advance but allowing it to evolve on the day depending on what people want to do, though people will come with ideas often discussed beforehand online. Given the limited time available on the day for self-organisation - we only have 3 hours - it is probably best to set some agenda items in advance, though leaving some space for ideas on the day. So - if you have any ideas, or stories you want to tell, this is the place to air your ideas. And you can also think about anything you might want to propose that we do on the day, to help you get want you want from the event.
