Local map

I set up this map some time ago for the Hyperlocal Allinace group on Linkedin, and have now started adding events to it. I'm realising it's a bit tricky to add everyone by geographic area, so if you want to add yourself or anything else to the map, please feel free :)
If text is easier for you, there is also a text version available by using the RSS link, this doesn't work in all browsers but Firefox seems OK.

Permalink Reply by David Wilcox on November 8, 2009 at 2:33pm: Thanks Clare - great start! There's lots of events happening but often the first one hears is from a Twitter hashtag ... and then it's too late. Can also be difficult to figure out just what the event is too.
Any other ideas, anyone, for notifying and keeping up with what's happening?; ▶ Reply to This

We are currently developing our new website at Media Trust and a key feature we want to build in is a way of enabling people to see who's where, and what's going on in terms of events, training and digital mentors, so that people can connect more easily.

In the meantime, very happy to add events and things to the map, can I just check, is it just free to attend events only? We are about to publish our calendar of training events for the next six months, these aren't free but as a charity we do run them at cost.

What are your thoughts?

feel free to add the events with links to your site, I haven't placed any restrictions on it at the moment and we'll see how it develops.
