More about the project

This project was started by Consumer Focus to explore how to ensure that the consumer interest is placed at the heart of the design and delivery of digital public services so that they are more efficient, accessible and better quality.
Consumer Focus worked with David Wilcox of Social by Social to combines online discussion and a workshop on March 15 2010 for specialists, with research and other inputs. Lauren Ivory and Paul Clarke facilitated the workshop.
The main work on the project ended in March 2010, but you are welcome to join this group for further discussion and updates . If you aren't yet a member of this SocialbySocial community, please sign up and then join this group through the link on the right.
To contribute you can add to the comment wall below, comment on a forum post, or create your own post. Any queries about this group and online discussions, please contact David Wilcox.
Reports from the workshop and other content is now consolidated on a wiki here.

Reports from the March 15 workshop are now taking shape on a wiki here. We'll be finishing that next week, together with a downloadable version of the report.

Thanks David - that would be great although I'm actually there reporting back the initial findings on 16th March. But this will only be version 1 so anything that comes out of 15th will still be very welcome!

Hi all

I just wanted to point you at a piece of work we are leading with Harvard Kennedy School looking at the future of e-enabled public service delivery.

All ideas welcome - seems v relevant to your work here.

Thanks

Dom

will also be at #ukgc10- hoping to prod into questions such as "what is the difference between the useful and the used?" in terms of digital public services at present I'd quite like to explore what actually *is* at the moment. I'll be blogging through the day so hopefully will get into some really interesting conversations :)

Tomorrow - January 23 - I'll be at the UK Government Barcamp looking for ideas and interviews to aid our thinking about better digital public services through user involvement. There are no more tickets, but you can follow the action on Twitter and also see videos and blogging on the network site.

Hi folks - thanks for joining the group. I realise the opening forum post is a bit flat, so do feel free to start another if you wish ... e.g. is this a sufficiently radical approach? What are the practical difficulties for commissioners? EWho has done any work on this? Are there good examples around?
