Social by Social are developing ideas for a kit for social media surgeries and other workshops in which people learn together how to use social media for social benefit. The kit could work for community activists, local authorities, social media enthusiasts wishing to share their expertise - or a mix.
The idea of surgeries
is spreading, and there's scope for developing a shared resource. We are building from
the game, and the
Social by Social book ... others have their own ideas and resources. How could we develop an open resource that anyone could use and tailor to their community or organisation?
These pages include ideas for a kit for the workshops, and other online resources. These are just draft ideas. Our aim would be to develop collaboratively.
As a starter for discussion, a kit could include:
1. Short Powerpoint on social media and social capital, main tools etc. To be developed - there are plenty of shared resources to mix with our own.
2 How to choose tools as an individual: a much simpler version of
this matrix?
3 How to choose tools as a group: mini-version of the social media game. Here's the
evolving game kit.
4 One-page guides
like these from Tim Davies. No surprise they match the cards, because Tim has evolve the game, and
a way of easily developing new cards.
5 A q and a sheet with links to more resources -
here's an example. The list would build - more questions and answers from each surgery.
