They can be taken up from the age of 2, either run by NGO's or by the government of India. The children are being taken care of by 'supervisors', more or less trained for their tasks to focus on the integral development of the children who will have a snack and sometimes a (free) lunch to eat. Volunteers play games with the children and learn - where necessary - the supervisors to improve their functioning and impact on the children.
