Anything you would like to say about you or your projects?
Am involved in a few projects here and there. My real interest is in how all this activity can be joined up, both horizontally by location but also vertically by communities of interest too.

Here be Dave

I work as Community Evangelist for Learning Pool - the public sector eLearning exchange. I make noise about the company and the great work we do, as well as finding interesting projects to get involved in.

My main focus is on technology enabled change within organisations, with a particular emphasis on the opportunities that come from social software. I've done a lot of work with government around the digital engagement agenda, including stints at Number 10, BIS, UKTI etc. My main focus at the moment is on local government.

I've been blogging about and promoting the use of social technology in government for five years or so. The current home of my writing on this is DavePress, whilst more personal thoughts are being recorded at Fragments.

I've got various profiles scattered about the web. Always happy to connect wherever you find me.

You may have read in today’s press due to cost the LGA are proposing to close the Knowledge Hub facility. There is statutory 30 day consultation period (consultation closes on 23 June) [...]

How in-the-browser software should work

I wrote recently about my growing unease with the addiction we have with ever greater convenience with our computing over the necessity of control. A lot of this is driven by cloud, and software-as-a-service (SaaS). The convenience of SaaS is difficult to argue with. No installing software. No upgrades. Files accessible wherever [...]

Hi Dave, finally got to grips with the fact that none of our 180 strong network can access this site. We put a 's' at the end of http and we get through. You have to do this when you click on any link on this site. I can manage but our newbies can't. Telewest says they aren't blocking ning. Ning won't reply to our requests for assistance. So we won't be visiting often. sorry. Pls email if you have anything important to tell or ask us. cheers

Thanks for joining Yet Another Ning Network. Antonio Irranca has now responded in the Collaboration Workshop discussion asking if people would favour CLG doing some convening. Good idea? Looking for comments here. Will message with more.
